Food Artist
Industry : Food
Khru Tum teaches Thai cooking and fine arts, a hark back to his
background in traditional Thai arts from the Poh-Chang Academy
of Arts. He became the darling of the foodie crowd when his Khao
Chae Chef’s Table boasted a food presentation that was almost
too spectacular to eat and a taste that drew tears. He is proud
of having donated his hard-earned income to help victims of the
pandemic, even though his own business was down, and of his
success as a columnist under his pen name “Mae Paed Phan”.
His favourite work of art is the The Phantom of the Opera, which
shows that there is beauty hidden behind the most grotesque.
He is planning to set up a gallery space to show his collection of
historical artefacts, use his space tucked behind the Democracy
Monument as a community centre, and to write a novel. He enjoys
visiting museums and antique stores to buy old photographs and
cookbooks.
