CHOREOGRAPHER, MUANGTHAI RACHADALAI THEATRE
Industry : The Arts
Suteesak, or Dr Joe, is a prominent figure in the fields of dance, choreography, and teaching. Widely recognized as a judge on popular televised singing competitions in Thailand, he also oversees all choreography for musical productions at Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre. With a teaching career that spanned over 30 years at St John’s School, he served as a choir master, contributing to the school''s achievement of the first gold medal for Thailand at Choir Olympic 2006. One of Joe''s proudest accomplishments is creating new choreography for the Thai ballet, Manohra, set to music composed by King Rama IX. The inspiration for this work came from the words of HM Queen Sirikit: "The King is water, and I am the forests who always pay respect to water." His DFA thesis production, a reimagined female perspective of the literary epic Phra Abhaimanee, garnered significant attention and acclaim. In addition to his contributions to the arts, Joe is an international dog show judge, reflecting his love for dogs. He finds inspiration in Maria from his favorite movie, The Sound of Music, and believes that a good teacher must listen, understand, help, and fulfill. Joe has plans to produce more of his original performances of music and dance in the future.
