Sutima’s passion for Thailand’s contemporary art scene and art history began at a young age. She is the founder and director of Nova Contemporary, which was established in 2016. Nova Contemporary represents and exhibits contemporary artists both Thai and international. Sutima completed her undergraduate degree in London, where she studied Fashion Promotion and Public Relations. She furthered her studies at the University of London’s School of Oriental in Art History and Sotheby’s Institute of Art London in African Studies (SOAS). After graduation, she applied for an internship at the Asian Art Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Her interest in art stems from her love of the Berlin galleries such as Tanya Leighton and Esther Schipper. Nova became the first Thai gallery to exhibit in the Discoveries section in Art Basel Hong Kong. Today, she hopes to support aspiring artists and promote Thai art overseas, as well as encourage the diversity of Buddhist art.
