Watcharapong’s passion to explore the world and to study the biology of living creatures has led him to become a PhD candidate
and earn a teaching fellow at the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the renowned University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He is also a National Geographic Explorer, creating content from the results of his studies on animal ecology and behaviour. Watcharapong’s research has been featured in several high-profile international press reports such as The New York Times and National Geographic. Some of his proudest achievements include working as an academic assistant for Japan’s national public broadcasting organisation NHK on an underwater documentary. Most recently, for his research on animal behaviour, Watcharapong received an honourable mention Warder Clyde Allee Award from the Animal Behaviour Society, becoming only the second Asian recipient of this award.
