Thailand’s Favourite Restaurants, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), introduces season 2 of “Culinary Gems of Thailand”, with six new episodes hosted by Natalie Phanphensophon and Nigel Oakins. They venture into the daily lives of some of Thailand’s most loved chefs as they prepare food for their guests based on recipes handed down by generation.

          In this episode Nigel is joined by MR Usnisa Sukhsvasti at Sri Trat restaurant in Bangkok. Here owner Wongwich Sripinyoo and his mother and cook, Srirat Sripinyo recreate the essence of Trat province in Bangkok, by preparing dishes from their beloved family recipes. Khun Srirat explains just some of the secrets behind the success of Sri Trat based on a desire to warmly serve guests with authentic Eastern Thai cuisine. The culinary offerings meld ingredients from both the mountain and the sea, fusing the balanced flavours of Thailand's central part and the spiciness of southern regions. Khun Srirat was once a famed beauty queen and even now, many years after her time on the catwalk, she retains a charmful grace and beauty as she marshals the kitchen staff into shape.
